USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS FOR AUTOMATING ENTERPRISE ACCOUNTING PROCESSES
Abstract
The article addresses the growing relevance of artificial intelligence tools in the transformation of accounting practice within the context of Ukraine’s ongoing digital economic development. The topic is particularly relevant due to the increasing pressure on enterprises to enhance operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and respond promptly to dynamic market and legislative changes. Accounting remains one of the most information-intensive and regulation-dependent areas of business activity, where a significant proportion of working time is still devoted to repetitive and standardized procedures. This situation creates a need for technological solutions capable of supporting professionals in routine tasks while enabling a gradual shift toward more analytical and strategic responsibilities. The study explores the conceptual foundations of applying artificial intelligence technologies in accounting processes, with particular attention to generative AI models as accessible instruments for assisting in document processing, data structuring, drafting analytical explanations, and supporting compliance-related tasks. It outlines the functional levels of artificial intelligence applicable to accounting activities and considers both the potential advantages and inherent risks of their use. Special emphasis is placed on issues of data confidentiality, ethical responsibility, and alignment with Ukrainian accounting and tax regulations. The discussion highlights the importance of developing new professional competencies, including the ability to formulate precise and context-aware prompts, critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, and integrate technological tools into daily workflows without compromising professional judgment. Organizational, legal, and technological challenges that may hinder the adoption of artificial intelligence in Ukrainian accounting practice are also examined. The article contributes to the broader understanding of how intelligent digital instruments can influence the evolution of the accounting profession and shape its future trajectory in the national economic environment.
