MINT, BELL, PIIGGS, VISTA, CIVETS, N-11, BROOMS – POTENTIAL CENTERS OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE CONDITIONS OF ENTROPIC DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Over the past decade, economically developed countries have been competing for spheres of socio-economic and political-technological influence, while developing countries are struggling for sustainable existence. The russian-Ukrainian war has a significant multidimensional impact on the formation of a new geopolitical order. It has become a catalyst for a number of trends in the global confrontation: increased consolidation of countries close in interests and political regimes – democratic (USA, Canada, EU countries, Ukraine) and authoritarian (russia, China, Iran, North Korea); the introduction of sanctions (transactional, technological, investment, trade, personal), which weaken the russian economy and are a factor in forcing russia to compromise and make peace; the weakening of the economic positions of the BRICS countries due to systemic sanctions by the United States as a response to the continuation of anti-American policy, the support of trade relations between India and China with russia under sanctions; the change in the scenario of global development and the emergence of potential post-crisis centers of socio-economic growth: MINT, BELL, PIIGGS, VISTA, CIVETS, N-11, BROOMS. Armed conflicts threaten the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and require joint efforts of the government, civil society and academia to prevent future armed conflicts and overcome the consequences of existing ones. The russian-ukrainian war became a bifurcation point, the world began to change sharply and irreversibly. The role of Ukraine, the heroism of its army, the creativity of its command, and the growing resistance to the aggressor are becoming a decisive factor in the global bifurcation. The author gives examples of potential centers of socio-economic growth and post-crisis resilience. One can observe how the economically stable BRICS cluster begins to lose its power and investor favor, and other potential centers of economic growth claim its place. Goldman Sachs analysts see promise in the 3M (Mongolia, Myanmar, and Mozambique) and BROOMS clusters (Belize, Reunion, Oman, Outer Mongolia, Mauritania, South Sudan) – the mineral-rich countries bordering the BRICS. They are projected to be the fastest-growing countries in the next decade and can share best practices in managing their resource wealth.
